The scratching to get around a set of rules is one thing that should be fixed. I say once a dog is entered it is entered the Master of Hounds of the host club should have final say on all hounds that are scratched for anything other than running off game, not hunting and three minuses.

05 was just that, "pathetic!" It sure cut my intrest and respect of some in the sport way back!

I believe a hound should be able to finish the year out in the same class it started if the owner wishes i made this statemant at the last rules meeting and it was voted down and i still dont know why.For example my smoke dog won the IL. state hunt 2 weeks ago and granded out this win moved him back into the top ten but now he is just a sitting duck waiting to see what happens in the two hunts in atlanta oh. which there is no reason for me to attend because smoke cant run in the champs. Every body that is close to the top ten has called me to see just how many points he has this HOY stuff is such a mind game i wonder how many lay awke at night wondering how can i make it.

Hey thats the Christmas spirit boys, lets all fight amongst each other.

All you can do is play the game the way the rules are, if you make it into the top ten, show up for the runoff and let your dog do the talking. It shouldnt matter where you get your points, big hunts , club hunts. I dont believe anybody is winning millions of dollars in this game so maybe we should all lighten up and enjoy our hounds more and worry about points less. Just my opinion

The Grands are the only true Hoy. Do not move up in class when you win. All the hounds have the same chance. IF a hound can score 400+ points and not champion out is he realy the best hound. Looks to me like a hound that Champions out quick would be the better hound over one that just places but never win's.

I believe the dog should continue in his class till end of december. If that was the case there would be no holding back wins. Eiether way the best should rise to the top in the runoff anyway. There is not a fool proof system now or in the future. Spending thousands to win a fraction of it back with a 10.00 plaque, Means more to most than me personally. I also hate to watch my hof points slip away, but will still get too prove my dogs wieght at the runoff. This is a good topic for disscussion.

Do like PP and make them certify to move up, then you can keep running until you do certify at the end of the year.

And Danny, you are always saying size don't matter, if that is so, why run your dog in 13's if he should run in15's. Thought it was the size of the heart, not the dog.

well morris,if you remember,the post i stated that in was the size poll post,wich was refering to NKC,in that post,i stated that size has no affect on the scoring in NKC,cause NKC does not score speed and drive.

AKC.SIZE PLAYS A BIG FACTOR IN akc,AND LIKE I STATED ABOVE,MANY OF THE JUDGES THAT MEASURED BANDIT WHEN HE MADE THE WINNERS PACK IN AKC HAD TO PROP HIM UP TO GET HIM TO MEASURE OVER 13 BECAUSE IT WAS IN THE 15 IN CLASS,A FEW OF THEM TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO GET HIM OFFICIAL MEASURED INTO THE 13 IN CLASS,SO,I TOOK THEIR ADVICE,SENT IN MY PAPERWORK,WHEN IT CAME BACK,I WENT TO THE NEXT AKC HUNT,WICH WAS JACKSON,AND HAD HIM MEASURED.

THE JUDGES MEASURED HIM 13 INCHES ON THE HEAD,RIGHT IN FRONT OF GOD AND EVERYONE.AND WHEN I TOOK HIM OUT THAT DAY,THERE WHERE TWO OFFICIAL MEASURED DOGS THAT WHERE A GOOD 1/4 TO 1/2 IN TALLER THAN BANDIT,BUT I DIDN'T MAKE A SCENE AND CALL THEM FAT ______,AND TELL LIES ON THEM,DID I?

SIZE DOES MATTER IN AKC,AND ANYONE THAT HAS BEEN TO AN AKC HUNT KNOWS,THERE ARE QUITE A FEW 16 TO 17 IN HOUNDS THAT ARE RUNNING IN THE BIG MALES CLASS,WHY SHOULD I RUN BANDIT AT 13 3/4 AGAINST DOGS 3 INCHES TALLER.
