Post by allniter »

while clean out kennls and changing water ---I turned out 6 puppies 4 months + and a couple year olds ---we have a bout 4" of snow and it is the first snow they have ever seen --the pups tried to keep up with the older dogs and they barked ever breath around the barn and house and back in the field back to kennel for a half hour ---the ? is am I teaching them to dog bark and me-to behind dogs ---other words will it hurt them to run after the older dogs in the yard ---sounded like a sight race--- sure did sound good   I'm dummer than a boxs of rocks with beagles :P :P

I wouldn't let it continue. Try one or two pups with the old dogs. It's hard to train that many pups at the same time.

Them was pups being pups. Thats what they do at that age play grab :moon: . When you get serious about starting them knock it down to one at a time with the older dog. They aint learning to run dog or anything else they just playing. If you just turned out the pups they would do the same thing. I think it is good for them all to play together once in a while helps make the pack bond stronger.

I didn't want to help them with a bad habit --yes they will be ran one at a time and the last one I started I started by it's self with out and old dog --just take a few more trips to the field
