Jack, look behind those ears for a set of antlers!!! That's a mutant. This may sound silly, but I wonder what that would have weighed compared to average sized rabbits. It looks twice as big.

About 20 years ago I was hunting near Taboso, Ohio and the dogs circled this big ole woods rabbit out of ear shot and back. When I saw the rabbit I was amazed. It was as big as those pet rabbits and was at least twice the size of a normal mature buck rabbit. I rolled that rabbit with a 20 ga. and if got up and rand 30 yards to some rocks. There was blood everywhere and I couldn't believe a rabbit could take a shot like that and run. I wonder if wild rabbits mate with tame rabbits to get this size???
That is a huge rabbit. I've killed two about that size so far. That has been within three years of hunting. I don't know how they get that big hopefully they passed the genes down to their offspring
