Someone gave us a "purebred" beagle pup when I was a kid that grew to be about 16 inches of pure jumpdog but was more of a Heintzabea than a jackabee.brindle longhaired coat with short ears ad muzzle. We would run him with our little 13 inch bluetick gyp who was no slouch either and they would be death on a rabbit. If it was out there he would jump it and if it was jumped she would run it to gun or hole unless they would just run it down and catch it.Used to hunt most everyday with that pair and have good memories of it.
Out of all the Hybrid crossed made with beagles over the last few years this one actually makes sense to me. Not that I'm gonna run out and buy one, but if you have ever seen a Jack doing what he was bred to do it is impressive to say the least. They are pound for pound as determined as any beagle and are relentless in their quest. Put a nose on one with that quick thought process and I'll bet it would be one heck of a rabbit dog.
