Sorry Rufe, cannot make it this weekend. I am on backup call at the Hospital and have to stay within 30 minutes distance. Maybe you guys could come up on Sunday after church or something.

Got permission to hunt some land up here just recently and to the best of my knowledge it hasn't been gun hunted for several years. Except maybe for deer. Just a hop skip and a jump from my house. The only problem is that it joins the property where I suspect that Woody was shot. Eve has picked up a cotton tail in the backyard and gone through the now posted land to that area on several occasions.

I truly think that the people who own the land behind the house just wanted to keep hunters off the land to improve deer hunting. They live out of state and untill this fall anyone could hunt the property. They have made it a real killing field. Mowed down all the rabbitat and cover. Eve and I have jumped many a rabbit under their permanint tree stand.

Haven't had any trouble until Sunday with either bow or gun hunters. I figure it was someone from out of town. Someone who didn't know that rabbit hounds ran the same area.

I have had time to think and to cool down. My earlier post were a bit hot headed. I see, fully, that I was also in the wrong. But I felt that by waiting until the late afternoon the deer hunters would have ample time to be cleared out of the area. Believe me, if I thought that my dogs were in danger, I would not have turned them loose. Lessons Learned the hard way are not soon forgotten.

I regret offending anyone; if I did.
