A dog measured out is excused from the ring...and that measure can take place in any class...open. puppy etc or in winners...or even in BOB...On another day... another judge may not call for the wicket and use that dog...It is all pretty subjective by the judges when to call for the wicket.. But 3 measures and you are out.. And ...TC you must have seen Field dogs with questionable measures based on the style of competion...A slower 15 sometimes will premeasure into 13 depending on the judges and how much that dog needs the win

A dog measured out is excused from the ring...
Not on this dog...
That is WHY I am Asking. it was witnessed by more than One spectator as the Wicket Rocked!! The Dog was left in the Ring but not placed.. WHY?
When mine was measured over I was excused from the ring.
Was it maybe just Close enough? on this dog (Who just happened to be a big Winner accross the country) Does the judge have that option with some dogs? is it up to thier discretion to excuse or not?

If a dog is excused from the 13" class, can they then enter the 15 or are they done for the show? IF the same dog measured out 3 times as was witnessed, why didnt the owners simply enter it in 15 classes? I really am not looking for you to answer the last one, just thought processing.

TC...It is the judges call as to where the wicket stands,,in or out...so it depends on the judges integrity if the wicket swings in the 13" to call that dog out.
If I happen to get measured...happens a lot in Brittanys..(DQ for under the small end of the standard and DQ for being over standard)I always check the wicket with a Stanley measuring tape...and request the AKC rep be present... There is so much bad measuring,I would be interested in who the judges were So I can avoid them send me a private message If you get the chance
