why are we having a poll on women being involved in beagle trials ? we all know that with out their help and understanding ,we would not be at any trials. My wife helps with the birth of our pups , she gives them the attention they need 24/7 and feeds and waters when i am away . She takes extra special care with them. she can go to any beagle event she wants . She is what helps make it all work !!!!!!!!!!

Nah.. they want ya!!! you can shoot, clean the rabbits and cook em up for dinner too!!! LMAO!!!! Ya know I'm just teasing!

FWIW, I can't think of too many sports where women are not welcome and encouraged. Go enjoy yourself!!

i'm a female beagler and yes the guys give you a hard time but i just give it right back to them its a fun sport in mich thier is several female beaglers and have meet a few here is kentucky also. that is what brought me and my husband together was beagles I trialed and so did he we talked dogs and it went from thier. The guys dont mind the girls at the trial. I belive the girls make a better bench judge!

I too used to be an avid trialer. I started back in '04 and the hubby and I would hit a hunt or two just EVERY weekend, but then the LORD blessed us with another baby and now it's so hard to find a babysitter for two kids (especially our brats   ) that I don't get to go to too many :( I still help out where and when I can though.

my 17 yr.old daughter gun hunts & trials with me. ive never heard of anybody saying anything. if we have 2 dogs she handles 1 and i the other. i couldnt ask for a better partner. its sad that ill be loosing her next season, she is heading to BYU next fall. i do have a backup plan, i have a 5yr.old daughter that loves the dogs & hunts with us. she just went with me this morning sportin a brand new orange hat.

Oh for goodness sakes !
Women can do this sport, who the heck cares about gender anyhow?
I've been doing this almost 2 years when I had just turned 40 and loving it! Now I can marshall a LPH trial with confidence. The boys up here treat me with respect and many wives are beaglers, participate and own dogs.
I've got over a dozen ribbons already and hope to finish my first hound start of next season. The boyz don't care, they just like the fact there's new blood. We need more newbies, male, female or otherwise. I hunt, so what, a woman can carry a gun, clean a rabbit then cook it real nice
