My house dog gets lumps behind her jaw bone. I rushed her to the vet the first time and it turned out to be a piece of dog food. She still has it happen from time to time. You can massage it out pretty easily. Hope this may help you!!

I just had one that I felt a lump on the jaw . turns out the jaw was broke. she ate and ran fine. she had a bad infection and the vet took out three teeth and a piece of the jaw. open the mouth as wide as you can and get a good look. I tried to figure mine out for a week before I looked back in far enough.
