SNOW SHOE HARE HUNT

Post by TANK »

I AM INTERESTED IN GOING ON A SNOW SHOE HARE HUNT. I AM FROM S.C. AND I PREFER A GUIDED HUNT WITH THE GUIDES DOGS. CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT AS TO WHO GUIDES THESE HUNTS. I WOULD ALSO BE WILLING TO SWAP OUT A GOOD SNOW SHOE HARE HUNT FOR A GOOD COTTONTAIL OR SWAMP RABBIT HUNT HEAR IN S.C. I HAVE LOTS OF LAND AVAILABLE TO HUNT AFTER JANUARY 1 THAT IS LOADED WITH RABBITS.

The best is Bob Weber! Guides for hire, you can contact him at info@guidesforhire.com i think that is right. He is knowledgeable and will take the time to talk with you. Those guys sure helped me on my hunt.

Dogrunner,

We never jumped a hare in the bottom lands around Lake Pleasant or the IP Land. To be honest there was little cover that i could find to even hold a hare so the first day was a wash. 2nd day we got back to what we know and hunted the spruce ridges and took several. Perkins clearing was good. The third day it rained to hard to even hunt so we came home. I believe the hare were really spread out. I think there is alot there we just had a hard time sorting things out being the first trip. When we did find them they were plentiful and i will go back in March. I have to admit i have never hunted such open cover for hare it is nowhere as thick as WV but they are there it is just totally a different way of hunting them. The next time i go i will concentrate on hunting closer to the Indian area in the big woods.

Hope this helps.

I have hunted with Pete Richardson of Troy, Vermont for the past couple of years. He does an awesome job and works his tail off. I am going back with him again and I can't wait. He has loads of hare and the dogs to run them. Check out his web site at http://harehunter.tripod.com/

Pete is a stand up guy and knows his dogs. I listen every time he speaks. You won't go wrong with him.

Mr. Comeau, for you to reply as you did after saying that you guide in NH is one of the classiest things I have ever seen on these boards.

Greg, those are kind words as well and I thank you. The fact is, Pete has forgotten more about dogs than I will probably ever know and I give credit where credit is due. I converse with him reguraly and have exchanged a dog or two.
