Hard hunt, good foot, honest mouths.
You guys in the Midwest area really ought to consider him as one of your choices.
OK now the only reason I commented on the short ears thing was this guy if you look in my ealier post you will see where I don't judge a dog at all by looks truth be told there is a very valid chance I have some of the ugliest beagles in Ohio I absolutly don't think good looks makes a good dog I think it is all in there hearts a dog that won't give up is what I like to me they are all pretty when they are running the front with control. I did not claim that what I read was true I am simply just commenting on what I have read so before everyone else decides to twist what I am saying read everything. Also to clerify Moore Beagles I put in More Puggles because you wrote YesBull I don't care if your dogs are AKC or UKC or what they look like if they are what makes you happy then thats all that matters your dogs are yours and mine are mine and they are what makes us happy and thats all that counts as we are the ones who have to feed them.Bells Run Kennels wrote:Hey No bull I have to TOTALLY DISAGREE with what you said. My point is this, a well bred dog with COMFORMATION is built to run all day and has an easier time doing it. I have judged hounds for years both in the field and on the bench and I know I have seen some sorry ass looking dogs that can hammer a rabbit BUT I also am smart enuff to know that good comformation makes it easier for a hound to run all day and pass those genes and that ability on to his offspring. bowed legs cause joint fatigue, short ears don't allow for great scenting under certain conditions, bad feet make for hip problems and so on and so on. I never owned the best dogs in the world but I was striving to improve the breed ...from my little corner of the world. and they ARE the best that i have. I could care less of their registry i wanted dogs that could JUMP and RUN and drive a rabbit to the gun...in am manner to overtake the game.

Darn good advice! It can be an eye opening experience for sure.Hilltop Kennels wrote:All I can say is go watch the dog run that you want to breed too. I have been all over the country looking at dogs run and have seen almost everything out there that interested me, there are a few others that do interest me but have not got their yet, but I will!! I have spent more time and money watching dogs run than I ever have spent on dogs. Money well spent!! You will save yourself alot of headaches in the future by spending a weekend or so watching what you are bringing into your kennel. Good luck finding what you need.
