I need advice

I just picked up a 2yr old male dog.
The people that had him just let him run around, because there was no cars or anything else around him. He will run a rabbit (not the greatest though), and he will run other game as well. He has never been aound any other dogs. Will he ever be anything worth putting time into? Is it possible that I can still train him to hunt just rabbits.

The thing about letting them run loose is they learn to run what they want when they want and they learn to hunt by their selfs rather then with you. I wont say you cant train him but Id venture to say your going to have big problems,
