I feel like there are a lot of good dogs that are AKC and UKC and ARHA reg. Some may be one or all three reg. Can't say that makes a better dog.
Don't think that is what he was trying to say, figure he was looking at males that had produced multiple ch's.

STUD
SINCE FAT DANNY GOT TO PUT IN HIS 2 CENTS I GUESS I CAN TO . I AGREE WITH NO BULL ON AFEW THINGS .THERE IS A LOT OF GOOD DOGS OUT THERE AND AS FAR AS TRIPLETHREAT GOES I DONT THINK HE IS QUITE THERE ,FOR EXAMPLE. MYSTERYMAN HAS RUN HEAD TO HEAD AGAINST HIM SEVERAL TIMES AND HASNT LOST TO MY KNOWLEDGE,IN LAST YEARS UKC NATIONALS IN GRANDS MANNY RAN AGAINST TRIPLE THREAT ,THE UKC WORLD CH FROM LAST YEAR AND 1 OTHER HE HAD THEM WHIPPED SOUNDLY AND IF NOT FOR A HANDLER ERROR HE WOULD HAVE WON 1ST INSTEAD OF 2ND HE HAD WON GRANDS I THINK 3YRS IN A ROW AND THIS YEAR THE DOGS WERE HALF HIS AGE HIM BEING 8 YRS ,I BELIEVE THREAT CAME IN AND WOULDNT HUNT AND GOT 4TH .I KNOW A LOT OF IT IS LUCK BUT IF I HAD TO CHOOSE THAT FROM 1 DOG IT MIGHT HAVE TO BE HIM .NO OFFENSE INTENDED TOWARDSANY ONE OR THEIR HOUND ,JUST TELLING THE FACTS. THEY CALL ME FAST EDDY

Of all the good dogs mentioned, and there have been many, here's who I would like to breed to if they were still available:
Their sires.

If memory serves, Triple Threat won the stakes at the Triple Challenge 2 years ago - against 29 other dogs all cast at once. None of the dogs there had ever been run in a large pack format, and it was a bit chaotic at first. TT managed to keep his head amidst the chaos and perform well. I haven't seen him run as much as some of you, but I'd have to say that was pretty impressive.

No bull this is a direct quote from a previou post that you made.
I am sure he is a nice dog but I don't think he is even in the same league as dogs like Reggie, Code Blue, Blue man, Scooter,Viagra,Trailblazer, Hill Shaker, the Awful Bawlin Males Striker so on I would like to see a UKC dog run for 8 hours a day for 2 days in a row on 2 foot of snow without blowing a check area or getting picked up.
If this is not a slam against against UKC dogs then I DON'T KNOW WHAT A SLAM IS.

Eddy,
I can help out a little here. Loko go rooster was the dog scratched for not hunting on the Grands at the nationals. Manny did have a substitue handler that day. He was a little nervous but a really good guy.
I am going with what ever Danny says.

The quote is from the 1st page on this thread.dmbarnes: where did you see this quote? I have been over and over every post and can't find it
I couldn't care less about trialing in any format but I must say that NoBull semed to be putting UKC dogs down. Sorry if this was not the case Nobull, but it most definitely appeared that way from your following post.

I like UKC dogs as much as anyone and have ran some in the past but from running both I have not seen many dogs in UKC that can handle AKC to where I have seen plenty of AKC dogs that dominate in UKC and ARHA for further proof look at how many people are breeding UKC females to AKC males to produce dogs that are faster and have more endurence

I AGREE WITH-- BEV..-- I WOULD BREED TO ONE OR TWO OF THE DOG'S MENTIONED'S SIRE'S IF THEY WERE AVAILABLE..I DON'T PAY MUCH IF ANY ATTENTION TO THE TITLES IN FRONT OF A HOUND I AM MORE INTERESTED IN THE BLOOD BEHIND IT ---------J.M.O.

I'm going to say what a lot of you don't want to hear. Chasing after the latest "hot" stud dog will put you on the fast track to no where. Been there, done that.
I am a lot more interested in the person behind the dog. When I see someone that has bred (not bought) several generations of outstanding dogs it gets my attention.
One such breeder that I know is Terry Daniel of Iowa. Terry started out in the 70's with coonhounds and bred generation after generation of grand nite champions and dual grand champions, winning the world hunt in the 90's with a dog that was line bred on his dogs.
Then he set out to do the same thing with beagles. He is on his forth or fifth generation of grand hunting beagle champions and has made a run for the world with several different dogs. So far, luck hasn't gone his way for winning the world hunt (he did win the UKC World Show with Sandy) and it may never happen again, but I promise you, if you see Terry at a hunt he will be hunting a dog that is capable of winning it all.
One of the dogs in his kennel now is CH GR HB CH Kansas State Show Champion, Daniels Shy. We bred a couple real good females to Shy and we have some young dogs that can run a hare all day on 2 feet of snow (had to throw that in there) and do it right.

jesse scrogham, jon way,and a couple other good ol boys down in ky bred a few gyps to reggie back before anyone knew of reggie, how much actual thought was put in these crosses,i dont know nor do i know how many pups or excact no. of crosses where made, all i know of is the first cross is the one that produced poes turbo powered appache, she needs 5 points to be lp r ch,has two wins in two hunts in ukc,and has places in akc,i think there where two other known pups that made it out of this cross,i owned one,he was not fooled with due to the guy who bought him as a pup got hurt,so he was not started till 14 months, decent gun dog,and the other i know of was used just as a brood bitch, was never started.the other cross they did was the cross that produced lnl ol red and jessies blue turbo, red is lp r ch and won the wva state, jessie placed 2 nd at the world and needs 10 points to be lp r ch.those are the only two crosses made that we know of from them guys, then, kevin and dan gee made a cross right before reggie won the world hunt, there was only two pups,a male and a female, dan has he male, hardley runs him at all,and the female is summertime, she id 20 months i believe, other than that, the next oldest litter is 14 months old to present, soout of the early crosses, there are only 7 known pups out there,of the 7,they have made their mark,so,to be continued............................dmbarnes wrote:I would like to know how many champions Reggie has produced? No-Bull you really shouldn't take the high and mighty approach concerning AKC Field Champions. There are a lot of tough dogs that have UKC or ARHA registrations that can run all day and do it right!!!
There are a lot of real nice producing stud dogs that aren't AKC FC's. What's important to me, is he producing rabbit dogs that can get it done under the gun. Not how many titles he has.

So the answer is =Reggie has produced one LP rabbit Champion. So how can anybody rate him in their top 5 stud dogs this early in his breeding career
Tom MN I really liked your response, I think the breed would be better served if more people would quit chasing after the latest IFC to breed any ole bitch too!
