Above ground pen

Post by deerhost »

Here's A new pen I just biult. It is not as nice as my first but it cost half the price. I put a half roof over the run so the dogs can lay out in the sun when they want and I used Duro-Bench flooring. The flooring has 1"X1" holes in it. Not quit big enough to let all the waste fall thrue, Alot of it gets hung up and has to get picked up.......Just a word of advice to you guys looking to use this flooring....The lobster wire is much better. The pup in there is my new FC Green Bay Shooter PUP....Dh Image

That one turned out pretty nice too. I could see how that type of flooring may not work....holes look kind of small.

Where do you keep the water bucket?

Can you get into the house part? Is there a door back there?

Are those 2x4's treated or something?

Sorry for all the questions I'm going to build another for myself real soon

Joeyman, It's made almost entirely of treated 2X4 lumber except for the 4 back upright supports. They are 4X4's. The green wire is from Luis Page fencing and it is 14 ga. Vynal coated wire with 2"X4" openings. It cost $68.00 for a roll of 3 ft by 50 ft thats enough to make two runs. The dog house is 2X4 construction with 3 1/2" thick walls and R13 fiberglass insulation, plywood inside and out and Painted. The roof comes off for easy
cleaning....Hope that helps...DH
