Jeff Leonard aka "Chief Longhair" has lost Branko'

Post by Big Daddy »

Branko's Nadia passed away this evening following surgery. She was our foundation Bitch and has given us great pleasure in the pups that she has whelped. She was an excellent rabbit runner. She had just won her first AKC hunt a few weeks ago at the age of 10. We were looking foward to gunning over her this season but her seasons are know over. We are sure she is enjoying the big hunt upstairs.

She will be greatly missed by Wild Hare Kennels.

Jeff, Justin & Chris, I'm sorry to hear about Nadia. She was a very good rabbit dog, a very good mama. :(

Chief,

So sorry to hear about the loss of a solid foundation bitch. Has to be a tuff one to bear. Hopefully, you'll have several great one to replace her but I know she will always hold a special place in your hearts.

Take care

Thanks to everyone. She was special to us. It was about a month ago that she won her first AKC Large Pack on Hare at the age of 10+ years old. That was only her 2nd trial ever in AKC. That was special to us.

Little did we know that she was fighting an infection in her uterus at the time. We knew she was fighting something but wasn't having much trouble with it. She died within 2 hours after bringing her home after being spayed. I guess the infection went deeper that we though.

We'll miss her deeply but we at least got 2 great litters out of her to carry on her bloodline. The oldest litter is about 1 year old and we have heard great things about them. We just heard about 1 pup in her second litter that will turn 5 months old on the 25th of this month. We heard that this pup was not only started but soloing his own rabbit on a regular basis. It speaks well for their sire as well. He is none other than IFC Greenwell Reggie. I guess we need to start ours real soon.

Thanks again.
