buying dogs from glenn johnston

It is unreal he has atleast over 200 beagles.

Personally I don't know how the man keeps track of which dog is which. Papers go with what dog etc. etc.

I don't know what kind of dogs he has. I went to his place to use a starting pen. It was stocked with plenty of rabbits.
He has good pens at his place.

I have heard several bad stories about both Johnston and Merle Crain but most of them were from folks that bought the dog sight unseen and had it shipped. .

I think I have heard of Red's experiences with Merle and if he would of seen the dog go before he bought it he probably wouldnt of bought a dud and im pretty sure he would agree with me.

There was no "hypocriticalness" (not sure exactly what that means) meant. Just stating the facts! Surely you dont buy dogs on just anyones word do you?????? I didnt think so! My post wasnt meant as a slam towards either one of them....just stating the obvious!

Merle Crain and Glenn Johnston aint no Branko. Merle could sale ya a good dog with bad papers, he got caught life strolls on. Johnstons beagle?
Been advertizing for years, must of hooked a few along the way. I also dont think vansickle was banned from here for branko , think the river runs a little deeper.He is gone move on please.

Nobody could bash the Branko's more than the two show kennels did on the ( Out of the breed ) thread.So I do not think his talk of the Branko's did him in.

I don't think it had much to do with bashing branko. Basically Danny illistrated an experience he had with the branko's. The problem is when people jump in trying to start an arguement and continue to instigate. Try this on for size if your kid gives his opinion in school and other kids continue to heckle him until he looses it and then he is the only one disiplined is that fair.

JMO.

As for merle or gleen I haven't had dealings with either.

my family has been buying dogs off ole mearle for 22 years and never had a bad dog ,I just picked up 4 last week from him and they are great running dogs ,2 are afraid but they are comming around

You know Aaron, since Danny was dealing directly with the seller, I'm sure he felt he was stating what was "obvious" to himself also, that was the "icing on the cake" that got him ban...remember...so it was held against him???

It's always funny when a debate gets looking bad for the "home team", the "lets move on" or "lets just drop it" comments start popping up...

This is a wonderful board that we can learn and exchange ideas from. To have hounds or pups that don't all prove worthy doesn't make us a failure, it makes us human...only when failures are tried to be covered up, does it make one suspect too underhandedness, that a false cloke of perfection is being spread...

In the "out of the breed thread" the problem was the distance between the two parties. How many $200-$300 shipping fees can you afford to get it right? I don't know you, you don't know me, can I trust you, can you trust me?, I've been swindled before, well i have too, are you telling the truth?, yes are you telling the truth?... Dealing long distance is a risk you have to be willing to take when you enter into the plan... Shipping back and forth can make you a poor man and put a lot of extra expense into getting the hound your hoping for...

asince i was brought in this conversation i will speak ... yep merle got me but as stony said he shouldnt have been able to had i seen the dog run which it wouldnt.. and he saidf it would . i said it ddint have to be started so thats not a prob.i told him i didnt want a shy dog after a month and a half u still couldnt catch it he said it was just shy from riding and i bought into it what an idiot i was ... he got me but he'll never get me agin !!

If anyone thinks that Danny was banned because he was bashing Branko they are nuts! In addition, anyone who thinks I was bashing johnson or Crain is crazy because I have never done business with either of them and probably never will!!! I was just staing the facts that if anyone buys a dog on someones word they are only asking for trouble unless you really know the person. Yes, there are some folks that you can trust but for the most part you better go see the dog go before you lay down any money! I learned a long time ago that you might as well be straight when selling anything because if you dont it will come back to haunt you in the long run. End of story!
