I bow hunt alot I usually get 4-5 deer a year, I might gun hunt a few days but not much (rabbit season is closed then) shotgun and muzzleloader. Our bow season starts sept. 15th this year where I hunt and goes till Jan-26th. I shot 3 deer with a bow last year and 1 with a gun. And killed 13 rabbits with the dogs. Total we killed 11 deer on the property we hunt. 26 rabbits total with everyone I hunt with different properties.
And rabbit season starts Oct. 20 closes a few times for deer season and things then the last day is Feb. 4th.
I hunt all Saturdays during the season, and sometimes during the week if I have off school.

Here in Ontario Canada, we can still hunt deer with dogs (in most areas). I hunt deer locally with shotgun (slug barrel and scope) the first week of our season, then with rifle and hounds the next week. One way is just as productive as the other, but hearing the hounds (always beagles in our camp), on a hot deer trail is an entirely different thing. It can't help get your blood pounding. We've got more deer locally than hare, but I run my beagles almost every day, the rest of the year (if I'm not fishing or hunting other game). It's a good life for sure!

We Deer and Rabbit hunt in the fall, and Bust the turkeys in the spring. Between Ky & Ohio we can bow hunt from Sept 1st to Jan 31st. We tend to hit the early bow, and then heat up with the rut, and then taper off, and mainly hit the late Muzzleloader seasons. Ohio rabbit season gos till mid to late Feb. and that helps. Then we run dogs till the turkeys start gobbling, and do alittle shed hunting while were standing around. I'm always looking for shed antlers. I spotted one shed driving down the road once in a field.
