Actually Pits are bred and born with the fighting instinct.
Unfortunetly SOME pit bulls are bred for the purpose of fighting, they are bred for the right build and with (hopefully for them) a tendency, under the right circumstances, to fight. Their is no instinct to fight. From the moment they are born they are treated in a way to bring out this tendency-most of this is environmental, which becomes very dangerous in the power of a pit's body. The pit bull was originally bred to be a bull baiting dog. When this became illegal some people began to breed them to fight each other. Believe it or not from about the turn of the 20th century to the 1970's the pit bull was one of the favorite breeds for families here in Ameria. They also worked alongside our military in WWI and WW2.
The bad press of the breed is because of unscrupulous breeders, not because they are born killers.

Rabbit hunting with beagles is wrong, rabbithunter14 should never be able to go out and make a living for his family again.

Believe it were next on their list

Thall, let me tell you something, I am 15 years old for one thing, and you sound like a complete Idiot. You think rabbit hunting with beagles is wrong? So you are telling me that raising Mean dogs and letting them fight until their death is right? I dont agree with you. Why is rabbit hunting with beagles wrong? Atleast rabbit hunting is a sport, and not a death match between two dogs.

Two of the best dogs we have ever owned where game breed Pit Bulls they did not circle rabbits, point birds or fetch ducks BUT that is not what they where breed to do they where very smart & easy to train we never fought them with other dogs (even though that is the nature of the beast) they keeped rouge racoons ,coyote & other varmits out of our area. Please understand pitbulls come in all types good ,bad & ugly so do beagles what Vick did if he did what they say he did has nothing to do with playing football just like what Clinton did had nothing to do with being president ;)

I've said more than i needed to about this subject. i won't comment again.
Just rember if you hunt or fish your next on the list. If you think A.R. idiots are realistic you're wrong. I thought they could never outlaw chicken fighting in Oklahoma Or Missouri now it's a thing of the past. Rabbithunter14 i don't want to offend you. I hunt rabbits, deer, squirels, turkeys, and ducks. It's a way of life for me, and i hope my son and yours (in the future) get to oppertunity to enjoy hunting.

Michael Vick is just typical of the thugs that play football at Va Tech. I think I will puke the next time I hear a football commentator talk about "Beamer Ball". Up here in WV, we have quality players like Pacman Jones. haha

There are children reading this list!!! I think this is totally inappropriate and rude!!! We are discussing or trying to discuss our own personal feelings about the subject of dog fighting. Nothing wrong with disagreeing or having a difference of opinion but, this comment is way off base.

If we as "hunters" stand up for the rights of people to fight dogs or chickens then we're associating ourselves with something that is wrong :!: I used to fight gamecocks and at the time I loved it , but I no longer do that and it was just as wrong when I did it as it is now that it's outlawed . I took great pains and sacrifice to take the best of care of my gamecocks , it was a "job" , a way of life , 7 days a week 24 hours a day (if I counted the times I'd barely sleep with my speakeer and shotgun by my bed , waiting for the next one to cackle , a thief or a predator ( almost any animal will kill a chicken) . Now I run beagles and hunt rabbits , I'd NEVER put one of my beagles through what a gamecock or a fighting dog goes through  .

Buddy

ps. I gotta go run those hounds now wooo hooooo see ya !!!

I have to differ on the definition of communism there, Brad. Communism is a political and economic. But hey, I stray from the discussion
