Give a SubQ injection for mites!
Give it oral for internal parasites!
Some notes i have save on Ivomec.
The vet said injections of Ivomectin would cure but it could take a few visits it can be purchase injectable Ivermectin at any local feed supply
I would give 1/10 cc of Ivomec Sub-Q
Ivermectin orally for heartworm at 1/10th cc. per 10 lbs. of body weight give 1/10th of a CC Now and then again in 7 days and then again in 10 days just to make sure. The initial dose will kill the live mites but, if they have laid eggs those will hatch in 7-10 days.
Use the ivomec. for mange and we use a dose of 2/10's per 10lbs. for 7 days. then repeat dose on the 14 th day then the 20th day.
Personally I'd go with Ivermectin 1% cattle solution. 1/10th of a cc now and then again in 10 days. Its much safer than dips. I've used it on puppies as young as 4 weeks.
PS: I would give it injected for this purpose. Its SubQ and it does sting so, the dog will probably cry out.

Re: dawn
This stuff does the job. Keep applying it on the infected areas generously and after a week it will be gone. Frontline also seems to help. I apply a little extra than normal. The pup I recently aquired was digging her sides really bad and losing hair and I treated her with Sulfadene and it cleared her right up.kybriarbuster wrote: sulfadene is also a very good product avalible at wallyworld. good luck. sam

Got an old timer friend of mine that said the very same thing. Burnt motor oil and sulfur, diesel or kerosene also.DRamey wrote:Just curious, does anyone use the old home remedy that served us well 30+ years ago, used motor oil and powdered sulfur mixed together and brushed on? Probably not politically correct nor very healthy, but as a boy we used it on several hounds and they were cured quickly.

From a book wrote in 1926:
Carbolic acid 1/2 oz.
Creolin 1 oz.
Powdered sulfur 2 oz.
Amonia water 3 oz.
Turpentine 4 oz.
Linseed oil 1.5 pt.
Kerosene 1 qt.
Shake well before using and apply affected spots for 10 days.
After 10 days wash off with soap and water.
Go one week without treatment then recheck for affected areas.
Repeat process as required.
