do all of your dogs have there current shots if not get them. Check to see if it is parvo or corona

Get your preg female out of your house and somewhere else to whelp. Sterilize her feet and wash her down with some good antimicrobial shampoo and get her away from your house. You need to do your shoes too.

I second what EMERY and would like to add you better pray for your unborn pups because it sounds like you have a terrrible situation happening there...

Parvo is very persistent once an area is contaminated. Your entire neighborhood will have to contend with it for a while. A former vet told me that it can live in the soil for a year or more. You will just have to do your best and deal with it as it comes at you. I would not bring an unvacinated pup into the area. Bleach down as best you can (repeat often) and keep your fingers crossed. MAYBE it is corona instead! I will say a little prayer for you and the mom to be! On a brighter note, mother nature seems to look out for expectant moms with an extra dose of immunity from disease. I had a litter once during a kennel cough outbreak in my kennel. I moved the pregnant bitch to the barn on the other side of my yard but I am sure she was already exposed. Thank the good Lord she nor the pups contracted kennel cough like ALL THE OTHERS DID! Best wishes!

Seems like I just read that in this type of threatening situation, it would be a good idea to vaccinate again just to play it safe. Anyone else think that would be money well spent? I have no idea how long it takes the immunity to build after vaccination.

You can be sure all have had exposure, the bitches tier level will be up because of this. The puppies will be fine until weaning time. As the immunity they've recieved from the mother wears off, there lies the danger. If you move the hounds around, you only spread the cloud of death around. Parvo seems to spread with the breeze, it can be so prevalent in an area.
The boy down the road did nothing wrong, his only fault was, he was one of the first hit and didn't know what had ahold of him.
I would start the puppy shots at 5 weeks and every 2 weeks thereafter, no sooner between and no farther apart. Cleanlyness is next to Godlyness in your situation. Heat and stress work against the puppy's wellness and strength at building a healthy constitution and immune system.
Don't move your hounds around, they have been exposed. Tho they may not be affected because of a health immune system, they will still shed the virus and you will spread it to others. It's a time to stand your ground and fight the battle at home.
Remember, have you shots ready, stay cool, calm and clean, and bleach, bleach, bleach...

i have to agree with patch an old vet a long time ago told me bleach would kill parvo so when i clean my pens i scrub them with bleach then wash them down

It is recommended NOT to vaccinate a bitch in whelp. After whelping would be better than during...

ps... I like to give the shot (and wait) 10 days for it to have full effect on the immune system...

I hear Parvo can live in a contaminated are for a min. of 6 months. I'd move the pregnant female to a friends house that doesn't have any dogs nearby and hope the pups are all right.

Coolbrz, do you not understand, the bitch has been exposed. She is shedding the virus in her stool, but may not be affected because of her immune system fighting it off. By moving her, you only spread the virus to new ground.

I have heard; although I can not confirm, if you vaccinate a pregnant bitch it may cause cleft lips in the pups. Not sure about this but I'd be googling all the info I could. I'd also keep your bitch and pups indoors for as long as possible. I'd be sure they had at leat two shots before the pups were exposed to the outdoors. If you have any freinds in another part of town you may consider moving your bitch away for a several months.

You need to bleach everything down on an almost daily basis for a while. Give ALL YOUR DOGS a high titer parvo only shot, such as NeoPar. Once the bitch whelps, and I agree with the other poster who mentioned it, get her out of your kennel and into an area where she can be isolated. After she whelps, give her the NeoPar shot, and once the pups are 4 weeks, they'll be old enough to get the NeoPar as well, since its a single dose shot its a bit easier on their systems.
I would really recommend the NeoPar, as it is so high titer and VERY effective. A friend of mine started using this a few years ago after parvo broke out in her kennel and so far, its been gone and no more outbreaks for about 5 years now. I'm not sure if all pet supply sources carry the NeoPar, but I know you can get it @ http://www.atozvetsupply.com
