Moore Beagles New Additions

Post by Moore Beagles »

Paul and I went to Sundown Kennels and visited with Don and Dave McVay and had a great time visiting and running some dogs. We also got to meet met Jim Schumaker, and Chris Harstine. It was really neat to see all their kennels, and the setups for thier dogs, Its a rabbit haven, which means these beagles Won the lottery. These guys are super nice, and make you feel right at home. Jim's farm is where the Don McVay memorial hunt we be held, and it promises to be a great time. I'm really looking forward to going.
We even got to meet Don's better half Pam, she is really sweet, and I can see where Don got his good manners. I can't say enough good things about Don and Dave, We are very blessed to have them as friends, and look forward to spending more good times with them. Of course we had to come home with some Moore beagles. Don reminded me that we don't have to buy every time we come up, but we just couldn't help ourselves. We joked that we are quickly becoming Sundown South. :D
The first picture is Sundown Carrie of Lanbur, we bought her to compiliment our Parker male in our Show breeding, we have a Male out of her and Chip off the Block, so we have seen what see can produce and we like it.
The second picture is a 6 week old pup out of Triple Threat, which also contains One Tough Ombre to just name a few of some great Rabbit trailing blood. We have high hopes for her!
Paul and I were there a year ago and came home with two dogs, one out of Windkist Walk in the Park, and another from Sundown Runnin Rebel, that we are really happy with. I also added a picture of Sundown Triple Threat, which is lookin like One TOUGH Rabbit dog himself. This Stud is really special, and your gonna hear alot about him in the next few months and years. So if you haven't seen or heard of Triple Threat you read it hear first.

Gregg,

Glad you and Paul had a good time. Congrats on the new additions. Everytime I go up it is always for a trial and we never really get to sit around and B.S. and run dogs, anymore. Although, we always have a good time.

The Don McVay memorial is a good time for sure. The wife and I will be there Friday so hunt us down and introduce yourself.

All of their wives are saints, to have to put up with them!!!!! LOL They are good people.

Enjoy your Threat pup.

Albert,

We talked about them the other day.

I just had two litters. One out of Lady and Arthur and one out of Chelsy and Threat. We kept one from each litter. Still have two available in the Lady Litter.

Those pups should be good ones. I just dont have room for any more puppies until I get rid of the ones I currently have plus move at least one of the bigger hounds.

Gregg and Paul,

Thats a pretty bitch and a very nice young puppy! I think that she'll cross well with your parker son. I've had really good success crossing my stuff with Lanbur. Glad you had a good visit too!

Thanks Leah She and Parker should throw some very pretty well built pups. We really haven't had a female of breeding age to compare to Parker until now. Her comformation is very good, and she loves to hunt. The male we have out of her and Chip is one of the best built males I have ever seen. Plus she is at good brood age and we plan to breed to her ASAP. Our last trip to Sundown a year ago we also picked up a female out of Runnin Rebel. She has shown us some good hunt with speed and abililty also.
Hey Bill I'm looking forward to spending some time with you, and getting to meet you soon. I saw the two male pups from your girls and Threat, They look very good! I would have tried to talk Don out of one of them, but we were only in the market for females. The one male has a alwesome head, and he is gonna be a runner and a looker for sure.
I'm including a picture of the female out of Runnin Rebel that we got last year. We call her Moore's Little Miss Samantha (Sammy).

Don,

If Dave would stop taking vacations maybe those hounds could be groomed. If you want just send Threat over here we will take good care of him. He will get the best grooming money can buy plus we will spend more to even get him a manicure. By the way, The law requires that I have his papers also. LOL

The guy that is posing Threat needs to be groomed, also. I refuse to do that one.

Yeah Beagled1 we love puppies too, she has warmed up to us, and she has already shown some agility. She can fly! She has the structure and build to really push a rabbit. Thanks for the compliment about our dogs, we never knew beagles this nice were attainable till my brother Paul did his homework using the information on this board. We took the advise of some good people which lead us to Sundown kennels and Donny and Dave. They were already 5-6 generations past the Beagles were trying to breed, we were all looking for the same desired result. We realized we were trying to reinvent the wheel when there were dogs out there that would exceed your expectations right now. I absolutely love what alot of guys are doing for the beagle breed. I know there are no really perfect dogs out there yet, but I have seen a share that are close enough, and I'm not easy to please. Carrie is gonna be a fine addition, because she has a some of the finest show breeding around, excellent conformation, a free whelper, a DOLL BABY FACE, sweet disposition, Oh and did I tell she loves to hunt, and can push her own rabbit. She was exactly what we were looking for. Everytime we start looking for a Beagle, we have learned to start at Sundown, and they have met and exceeded our wants and expectations everytime.
Matt thanks for the encouraging words, it means alot. I look forward to meeting more and more of the people That I have conversed with, I want to Trial, Show, hunt, and eventually spend sometime in the field with alot of the people I see on this board. The ones I have meet are even better in person. There are alot of good people that have alot of knowledge, and Experience to share and learn from, and I thank God for them. You Guys are a real blessing. :D :D :D :D

I have know Donnie and Dave for awhile. They are stand up guys. My first male was Morgan and now I have three more, Speical, Little Bit and Wink. The last female was Special and she is the littermate of Mr. Moore's Parker. Special had her first litter of 3 last Friday out of Sundown Triple Threat.

Hope to meet some of you at the Memorial Hunt and Show the end of August.

Hey Jackie Thanks for the picture, they are adorable. Do you think that blue one will stay blue color. Would you post a picture of Special I have never seen her except for a couple puppy pictures, but I have seen Glory in person(WOW). I know those puppies are gonna be keepers, and with Threat in their blood, they are gonna have the ability to be a rabbits worst nightmare. Gregg
