help snake bite

what kind of shot and how much for a sunday visit. Dont fib we will know?

I had a dog bit a few years ago. She was bit up under the front leg, sort of like in the armpit. It happened on Labor Day and the vet was closed. I spoke to an old friend of mine who had hunted hounds for years and he told me to put powdered alum on the bite (dry) and wrap in a bandage and give her milk. I put the alum on the bite and since we didn't have any milk I gave her some ice cream. Long story short I kept her on the back porch Monday night, put her in my shed Tuesday evening and back in the kennel on Wednesday evening. On Tuesday she was dragging lawn furniture around on the porch and then on Wednesday she dug out of the shed. I figured if she felt that good she could go back in the kennel. Don't know what kind of snake bit her but she came out fine!

The picture on the porch on the other page is a copperhead no doubt. I've seen many this year around home. First year I see then in my running grounds. Just think of the ones you don't see. I was standing in light cover and looked down and saw one about 16 to 18 inches going between my legs. I wanted to react but figured I better stay still. I had one dog bit but besides the swelling and lost of skin tissue and hair she recovered quickly. If you notice breathing problems it is best to see the Vet. I have seen many bit and lost none but I understand if a Rattler hits them usually by the time you get to them it's to late.

i use a semi retired vet tha we have here,,, drove to his hose he got the med's from his truck gave him two shot's an the charge was $ 18.oo if i would hae had to go to the office it would have cost $28.oo he come to my farm an it only $25.oo plus med..i will hate it when he retires he's about 90 year's old now.... so do'nt know how much longer he'll be around .. but until he quites he will be taking care of the dog's,cat's, horse's an cow's here...an when he's gone i'll meet reallity....

i got a 10 month old pup bite last night he laid down all the other dogs came in but him i toned him n finally hit him on 2 to locate him n he screamed n came in limping he was bitten on the front leg n was swelling pretty bad this morning he is still swelled but he ate n drank water never gave him anything just put him in his kennell bout 11;30 last nite gonna be ok i belive jb
