eyes swollen shut

eyes swollen shut

my big male ran off last night and came back sometime this afternoon. his eyes are blood shoot, a swollen and full of gunk. i cleaned them out with warm water and it seemed to help. i was thinging it was probally allergeries but not sure does anyone have any ideas.

Grass Seed ,Dust ,Pollen,Scratched from Runnin Ect been there before LOL
I rinse thier eyes out good with a good saline solutiion like for cleaning contacts ect or just plain ol eye wash then give em a benadryl let em rest up.
Just watch for any infections check the eyelids out good when washing for any forien objects.

I use Terramycin ointment if their eyes get to bad. You can get it at most animal supply stores and it works wonders.

like the others said. benadryl, a few days rest and teramyicin works good after a cleaning.. My dog has alergies this year...didnt last year..

You can use neosporin ointment if you don't have eye ointment. Make sure you get the regular kind and not the kind with pain medicine in it. sounds like he definately got some weeds etc in his eyes.

i wasehe them out a couple times to day with some warm water he is looking a lot better glad it wasn't something serious, i have no idea what he got into that night. thanks a bucnh for the help.
