If you're buying liquid dog food from Wally World or Kroger then you deserve what you get.
Spend just a little more money and get what you need! It's money well spent.

I'VE GOT SOME DOGS THAT ARE GONNA HURT SOME FEELINGS!!!!! I just hope it's not mine. Home of Wild Hare Kennels and FC Creek Woods Blue.
I hate to tell you Chief but this recall includes some of the top names of Dog Food and they are not cheap, Names like Eukanuba and Nutro. A lot of people have been affected and have been trying to buy the very best for their hounds. Best to save judgement of the owners when you are not aware of all the facts.
When Diamond had the recall, which is a cheaper food, most people did not attack the owners, but the companies for cutting corners. It seems even the biggest names in premium dog food try to cut corners. And we should be mad, at them. It seems the problem in general is they changed suppliers of wheat gluten and all these foods have this in common. Lets put blame where blame belongs with the companies who let the consumer down.

Sorry, but I was spending $1.20 per 10 oz can of Eukanuba and THAT was every bit as affected as a .50 cent 12 oz can of Cadillac. Nutro, Science Diet, and Purina's Mighty Dog were also part of the recall. These are not cheap foods, and are brands the average pet owner trusts. While I agree, food is no place to pinch pennies, the dogs nor the owners deserved what they got. John Q Public trusts pet food manufacturers and believes all the propoganda put out there by the pet food industry. It doesn't matter what you spend. All commercial foods are succeptable to recalls & the high priced ones are no exception. I hope this is a wake up call for some people who believe pet food is the be all & end all.Chief Long Hair wrote:If you're buying liquid dog food from Wally World or Kroger then you deserve what you get.

Me, I was never so happy that I'd very recently taken the dogs off kibble and have been cooking for them for close to 2 weeks - I used to buy the Euk cans quite often ... my dogs must have had someone looking out for them, big time. I only hope my cat, who ate affected cans of Iams/Euk pouches is as lucky ... and no, if my one year old cat dies or is found to be ill, neither she or I will have deserved what we got

Chief, I looked at your other post on Dog Food, you feed Diamond.
Do you realize lots and lots of Dogs died from eating Diamond about a year ago. You really ought to make sure you dont live in a glass house before you start throwing stones!
How would you have felt if you lost your whole kennel like many people did feeding Diamond, and then somebody posted what you posted.

I am sorry for all those who have sick or dead animals from this. I have always fed dry food but have used a little of the canned wet food sometimes added to it. Since it was just added to and not their full diet I have just used whatever was on sale. I was lucky that the stuff I have right now is ALPO by purina. It is not on the list. The article I read said that loss of appetite, kidney damage, and in some cases death has occured from using the food. Call anyone you know of that feeds canned food to inform them of the recall.
