Have you done a mouth and throat inspection. Any chance he has chewed up a stick or something that part of it has gotten lodged? Sometimes this appears worse after exercise because of trying to get more air, then they will try to hack it up and spit it out. This is often accompanied by a tongue action that reminds me of having peanut butter stuck to the roof of ones mouth.

Otherwise I would ask, does his breathing sound clear before running? Nose and eyes clear?

Worst thing I have seen lodged in a throat was a piece of a Pepsi can. TG I did, quick trip to the Evet to get the rest removed from his stomach!! The whole can EXCEPT the top. $470 Pepsi can..... Plus a green marble and some screen from a screen door......

Tiffinis,

I have read many posts on here about how tough these Patch Hounds are. Gosh, whatch'a gonna feed them next bullits and barbed wire?

Mo beagler,

My stepdad had a dog get chicken bone stuck in his throat. The dog finally worked it out but tore his vocal chords in the process. He now has very strange raspy to coarse bark that doen't carry very well.

Good luck with your dog.

LMAO... if it makes you feel any better, it was one of my Labs when he was 5 months old. MIL was puppy sitting for the day and one of the teenagers left a can in the yard. To this day if you hold any kind of can down to his face, he will curl his lip at you!! Cured him of chewing things up though.

Our male loses his voice every time one of our females is in heat. Takes about a week after for him to recover. He isnt barking, but rather a whining, moaning complaining kinda sound. You know...typical male... LMAO!!

Could this just be kennel cough? How old is the dog? I'd be a little worried if its not KC and its just after running.

Might wanna get him a check up at the vet.

NOT KC !! the vet said it was allergy. snortin pollen and anything else. heart sounded good. no fever. gave him two shots. I dont know what it was called but I heard the word steroid. he said it should straighten him out in 24 hrs and not to run him for about 3 days.also on antibiotics that will help it not go into the lungs.looks like baytril ? 68. 1/2 tab 1 time a day. I also asked him about giving the pups ivomec he said over 10 wks old on a beagle no problem. His partner last week said not till 4 months but she is just a women.... ...LOL girls.. LOL>>
