Above ground kennel question

Post by deerhost »

I biult a 4x10 above ground kennel. For flooring I used plastic coated 12 gauge wire. My only question is do you guys put two or three 1x4 running boards running length wise down the middle of the kennel so the dogs could walk on it. I've seen this in Dave fishers book. He says in the book that he installs a few boards down the middle so the dogs don't always have to walk on the wire and it is more humane. Would like to know if this is a good idea. .....Deerhost

I've seen alot of pens have 4 boards across the end of the pen (where the food/water bucket is kept) and also 4 boards across at the entrance of the dog box (for hounds to lay out on).
