Loosing hair
Have any of you guys seen a beagle just start loosing his hair. What could cause this? There are no sores or dry skin on the places where he is loosing hair.

Could be a number of things. Do you have a picture of this dog and the places where the hair is coming out? How old?Blue Briar Kennel wrote:Have any of you guys seen a beagle just start loosing his hair. What could cause this? There are no sores or dry skin on the places where he is loosing hair.

Could be a thyroid or adreanal gland issue, but nutritional deficencies can also cause hairloss. What works for some dogs, doesn't necessarily work for another.
The vet can run a thyroid panel and do a test for cushings sydrome (which normally affects older dogs) and if it's does turn out there are some problems there, they can prescribe meds that will help level out the hormones.
