Now Diamond involved in Pet Food Recalls
Moderators: Pike Ridge Beagles, Aaron Bartlett
Folks, there's numerous articles out there where the same poisoning has occured in HOGS in California that were sent to market intended for the US Food Chain. Homeland Security my Back side and this country better get off that crap of worrying about every other country and take care of the Homeland first. If terriosts actually attack our food or water supply it will make the Twin Tower crash appear like a picnic as so many people will die before they could even trace back the source it would be mass destructiuon without a weapon of mass destruction. Oh yeah, we ALL know about WMD's or lack thereof but have you ever thought about biological warfare that could possibly come in the form of a test tube or a vial? Most of the meat and poultry processing plants across the US are staffed with foriegners and I have seen the time when word was out that a plant was about to be raided and there wasn't even enough employees show up for work to operate. They're pouring across the southern border and flooding these industries like the water that busted the levee in New Orleans.

I got this email from Purina , here's part of it .
The recalled 13.2-ounce and 22-ounce ALPO Prime Cuts cans and 6-, 8-, 12- and 24-can ALPO Prime Cuts Variety Packs have four-digit code dates of 7037 through 7053, followed by the plant code 1159. Those codes follow a “Best Before Feb. 2009” date. This information should be checked on the bottom of the can or the top or side of the multi-pack cartons.
Importantly, no Purina brand dry pet foods are affected by the recall – including ALPO Prime Cuts dry. In addition, no other Purina dog food products, no Purina cat food products, Purina treat products or Purina Veterinary Diet products are included in this recall, nor have been impacted by the contaminated wheat gluten supply.
At Purina, nothing is more important to us than the health and well-being of the pets whose nutrition has been entrusted to us by their owners, and we deeply regret this unfortunate situation. We will continue to take any and all actions necessary to ensure the quality and safety of our products.

I see Diamond still claims they are not part of the recall even though 3 of there products are on the list at the FDA.
I have to disagree with the statement about the Diamond recall not getting as much attention because it was mostly hunting dogs. The Diamond recall didnt slip through at all, it was on CNN, USA Today, Good Morning America, etc etc
But essentially it was one company and yes many dogs died. This time the recall covered over 5,000 different products that covered both cat and dogs, so the amount of people effected was multiplied by the millions.

You can disagree all you want to, but the evidence is clear...the media didnt give the first Diamond recall anywhere NEAR this much attention. Only when retard dogs starting dying did they make a fuss...when hunting and sport dogs died on Diamond, yeah it was on a few news channels, but you have to admit, it wasn't touted as much as this recall is...

Eukanuba's been all over this like a fly on S---!!! Their breeder net anounced the problem to all of us right FAST!!! And you can bet that PG will buy a place of their own to produce their own wet foods.. I can just see a Euk exec now telling everybody,,, I TOLD YOU ALL (Other Euk Execs) WE HAD BEST BUY OUR OWN FACTORY so we don't get bit on the BUTT over a mess like this!!!!!!!!!! Oh well, Euks the best and we're having great results with the new Premium Performance Sporting formular.. Our bunch loves the stuff and it took a good second off their lap times around the house here while playing!!!!

Hey Leah, you have the right to be offended. Good thing that I also have the right to speak my mind...you seem to disagree with my description of these lapdogs. Yet you dont say WHY, just that you find the description offensive. And, just how many levels and what levels are they??? In my OPINION(is that better?) I think the media DID NOT give the attention to the Diamond recall that they have given this latest recall...if you can follow any logic at all, you COULD also come up with the same conclusion....but wait, do you hunt at all?? Perhaps that is the LEVEL you are offended on
. Sorry but I call it as I see it....hunting dogs die, YAWN....retard lapdogs die, all hell breaks loose.

recall
I believe you missed my point all together. Last recall effected a few thousand animals, dogs only. This recall effected millions of animals dogs and cats both (I am not a cat lover, but somebody is). It doesnt matter who's dog it is or what it does for a living, SOMEBODY loves it. I have asked everybody I know even NON dog people if they recall a dog food recall last year. They all answer, yeah, wasnt it Diamond. I wanted to see for myself what other people remember BEFORE I posted a response to your comments. Yes we are all allowed our opinions, but try not to be an ass about it. Everybody here cares about their dogs and what they do or they would not be on this board.
I second Leah's opinion, "Think before you hit send". Other wise it just makes you look like the jerk.
For the record, we hunt!! We have beagles that hunt and I have a Lab that does Search and Rescue that worked harder then any of your dogs in a life time. I have never bought junk food. I cant afford to. Somebodies life may rely on my dogs ability to keep going!!! I have done enough research on it to write a book. Including investigating the local dog food plant, (formerly Heinz, now DelMOnte) where I wouldnt buy anything to feed my dead dogs. If you want to know what I have found over the years I can tell you.

i agree with tony... and disagree with u on diamond. most people have no clue what happend a few years ago. and maybe u can stop blowing your own horn for a few mintutes, about your lab. if diamond would have had to deal with this a few years ago, there a small chance this may not have happend again. but once it hit the show breeders all hell broke lose. the point behind all of this is no matter what type of dog u have. it is BS that this is happing again.
It was a problem with the processing plant, it was a problem with the ingredients. Euk still has to buy ingredients, which I am sure they buy from the lowest bidder like the others.crewchf wrote:Eukanuba's been all over this...

I agree Leah. I have owned non-sporting dogs that were highly intelligent and great companions. I am particularly fond of German Schnauzers, Rottweilers, Doberman's, German Shepards and Mastiffs. I certainly don't consider these dogs retards but would be more inclined to consider anyone who posted them as retards to look in the mirror.Windkist wrote:I find that statement offensive on many levels.
