It should be fine at least 1 year after the expiration date as long as you have kept it in a cupboard and it hasn't turned yellow. sunlight turns it yellow and then its no good.

Merial recommends not using any out of date products because there is no guarantee of the product not breaking down after the alloted date. The date on these bottles from the company when they arrive at the store is usually about 2 1/2 or 3 years from arrival. It may be safe to use out of date, I dunno, but I am not willing to chance it. The manufactuer does alot of testing before putting the exp. date on the bottles. Not worth the risk.

Drug manufacturers must give an expirations date so, they do but, the actual drug is usually good after that date. The FDA sets guidelines and rules so, they have to abide. Keeping your drugs refidgerated and out of sunlight will make it last much longer. I never use up a full bottle of Ivomec and after some years I will throw it away but, thats almost always after the manufacture exp date. There are some drugs that loose potency fast like liquid amoxi or anything that is mixed with water.
