Deer Break
Can anybody tell me where to buy deer break? I hunted with a guy who had some but I cant get in touch with him. It came in a liquid form in a bottle and you put it in there nostrals. It kept them from running deer if they ever came across a hot trail. Deer break is all it had on the bottle.

deer break
It is in the boatman catalog, but you better have a shock collar on them. I have not seen this work on a dog yet, my buddy used to use it and his dogs would run the hell out of a deer with that stuff right on their nose.

I agree with Big Dog. I used to train deer dogs with that stuff when they were young. Now how can you train a dog and break a dog using the same method.
Get shock collars and nail them when they run a deer.

I agree with these guys..if you have dogs that have never run deer, why introduce them to the smell?? They may take it wrong and end up thinking thats what they need to run
I am rather new to beagles, 3 years or so, but I am becoming more convinced that what you start a beagle on and keep it on is what it will run. I dont think any dog is born not to run deer, its just they have always been praised for running rabbit and thats what they want.
If you dont want to take a chance because of where you are running.....put an e collar on em and have peace of mind. If e collars are not an option for you, I dont really know what I would consider, but I would think twice before spraying them with deer scent.
Just my opinion. Best of luck to you!
