Light colored dogs....better in the heat?

i think the white in the arctic is camo. not for the heat.. most of my dogs have thick hair in winter. till they get this shed out they are worthless in the heat..... i think skin and hair color could make a big diference if running in the open... any hare that runs much in open doesnt last long here... i havent noticed a difference, i sure have noticed that heavy coat hurts in the heat. i know guys that feed clovite feed supplement. they say it helps shed hair. i fed some this year but cant say it made a difference.. pete
