Sorry for your bad luck. I have had dogtra for two years now. From what I have heard Innotek and Sportsdogs just dont have what it takes. The next collars will be Tritronic you cant go wrong with the 2 mile range. it is an investment don't try and save money. I'm going to save and by next year I will have it. I like the tone feature they have.

Good Luck

I talked to BILL BOATMAN I send the unit back for an adjustment on a TriTronics today. we will see what they say if I dont get taken too badly I will trade in on a TriTronics if not I will send back to sportdog to get fixed. I just do not trust this system, and I have a hard time selling it to someone with all the problems its given me. I just paid 455 dollars delivered, and I hate to lose alot of money for a 2 month old system.

One of my buddies bought Tri tronics two dog system that can expand to a 3 dogs system i think it was called a g3 sport but he only paid 345 for the two dog system but he hasn't bought the third collar yet maybe you could try that. Did you have to deal directly with sport dog or your local dealer did they say they would trade for a tri-tronics. Because i noticed today that mine isn't getting the distance that it should. let me know some thing please.
Thanks

Nathan,
When I sent the 1800 that I had back in, I exchanged it for a Sport Basic G3. I'm ecstatic with it!!! Even though it's only a half mile unit, I got over a mile with it, and I tested it in the exact same place and manner as the Sportdog. I would be interested to know if there is even a Sportdog out there that has been successfully tested out to even 1/2 it's advertised range. I only need about 600 yards out of my unit, and expect to only get about 1/2 the advertised range, that was why I went with the 3/4 mile Sportdog. If you've had yours less than a month I suggest you contact your vendor right away and ask to return it for credit on either a Dogtra or Tritronics, preferrably a Tritronics.
