just curious on your alls thoughts my buddy used decking planks spaces about half an inch apart and he loves it just sprays it out dogs are healty everyting seems good. raised pups on it without losing any.
I'm getting ready to build a "Love Shack" for about two feet off the ground with decking boards as the flooring. I am also planning on putting a Seneca whelping box in the "Love Shack" for momma and the pups. I hope to also use is as a puppy pen until I can put them in the above ground kennels.
My buddy really likes his kennel he just sprays it out everyday while feeding i think thats my next route when i build my new kennels go all wood flooring ive got the supplies to build some welping and puppy pens using lattice for the flooring.

they are some small saw mils that still treat with a soluton that contains pest and bug repellants.but almost all have gone to a diffrent type that is supposed to be safe for pets and children. I only know this because the guy @ lowes told me when I was pricing wood for my son a tree house.
If you are going to keep adult dogs I would amke the cracks larger. I have some that are 3/4" and 1" would be better. All my pens except for a puppy pen and a aluminum pen are made of treated wood.
From my expirence, decking boards are little to wide, and catch alot of waste. I would recommend using a table saw and ripping them in half. I built a platform for a 10x10 kennel about ten years ago and has worked great.
