We use intervet proguard 5 for our puppies. Revivalanimal.com or valleyvet.com are the cheapest I've found. Just looking at Jeffers they seem to be about the same for that vaccine.

Dave,

I vaccinate all my pups with Fort Dodge. It offers 4 types of Lepto protection for the 12-15 week vaccination. I also use vaccines with Corona included. They are more expensive but worth it. I had a friend who lost a pup a couple of years ago and the Vet said it was Corona.

Leah "We use intervet proguard 5 for our puppies. Revivalanimal.com"

wondering, does this 25 pack come with syringes or do you have to buy them seperate. The vaccines I have bought in the past from the local feed dealer came with syringes, but after hearing a few nightmare stories about pups dying, I dont want to risk buying from a TSC or feed type store again. Since I have a litter due around Nov 12 and will be the first litter for me in over 20 years, I am trying to update all my puppy knowledge. Lord have mercy.

Also which wormers do you use for puppies.

You will need to order syringes seperately from the vaccine but, they are inexpensive. I would not use the kind at the feed stores myself as I've had some bad experiences. We use pyrantel and fenbendazole (safeguard) on all our dogs and puppies.

I manage a feed store take offense when people say this. The key to buying your shots from a "feed store" is knowing the people if you can. I get mine off the truck (where they are kept in a chest with a thermometer and alarm to the driver) and personally take them and refrigerate them in the back, bottom of the refrigerator. I have yet to have a problem or complaint about these shots. There may be some places that other stuff happens at, but around here co-op feed stores are a great place to pick-up knowledge. I sell 5 way shots at the store for $2.11, no syringe. My pups will have shots from my store with complete confidence that they are good. I don't just buy mine off anyone, online or here. Go with who you trust.

vaccines

I just bought 25 doses of Galaxy 5 way for $35 and 25 doses of Galaxy 7 way for $40. I get mine from Lambriar and have for many years. The 50 doses plus shipping in an ice chest with ice totaled $87.42.
I have never had a problem with Lambriar nor the vaccines. Several years ago, in a hurry, I bought some 7 way locally. In a few days after using it the puppies had parvo. I told my vet friend about it and that I suspected that the vaccine caused them to come down with it. He said that he also though that some vaccines could cause the disease. That is the only case that I have ever had. I keep a closed operation except for breeding outside females occasionally.

Tiny, I admire your sense of commitment. I wasnt trying to run you down. The feed store we have here, delivered a batch of wormers to me at work. I took them home without looking at them. Went to worm the dogs and noticed they were all out of date. When I called the next day to tell them, their only comment was, "Oh it wont hurt em". If this is they way they are with wormers, how can I trust them with Vaccines. Especially after other breeders in the area had problems and lost pups with them?

Sorry! No offense to the feed stores themselves. The problem for me was the TYPE of vaccine. Unfortunately he stores cannot order and sell the really good ones by the single dose. I almost lost a 2 year old bitch with some vaccine from a local place. Not that it was the stores fault at all.
