A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Coolbreeze I know when I drop the tailgate that my dogs will probably hole 1/2 the rabbits they jump or better and I would say of the ones that dont after the first circle will hole up on the second or third rime around and no it doesnt bother me a bit. We have a lot of birds of prey, yotes and groundhogs so it doesnt take much pressure to put them up. Its all part of the day. Badlands youre right about the ground hogs to my male jack is pound for pound the meanest litlle buger on two legs when it comes to them he wouldnt care if a pit bull came in my yard he is going to get a peice of it
not everyone that goes after a holed rabbit wants to cause it harm,a couple of guys i know invited me to tag along on a rabbit hunt with dogs and a ferret. The ferret had its claws cut and a muzzle on and was easy to get back out of the hole,he just followed the rabbit out.Anyway these rabbits were ran into a sack then turned lose into a large running pen. I really enjoyed it . I seen it as harmless as setting a live trap.
