Nate, I will show you that great southern hospitality. As before. If you would like to bring Smokeless D, Thunderless, and Red Ho, back for a good Tennessee ass whippin! I will even buy the Bar-B-Q so you won't leave heart broken and hungry. LOL!!!
I will call you tonight. LK

I just wanted to put one more post on to clarify a couple things. I didn't put my post on to down anybody, in fact I put it on to defend people, some of whom I know, some that I don't. Snowshoe, Gil does have a great line and I believe your dogs from him are good. I'm pretty sure I said some good things about Gil and his hounds. I also didn't realize this forum was only for world hunt winners or people you know. Sorry to waste your time. I don't really know if JCM was talking about me bragging on my dogs to sell them and making excuses about not winning or if it was someone else. In case it was me, all I had to say was that I thought they were incredible and were SOME of the best hounds I've ever owned. If that is a crime then some on here will get the death penalty. As far as selling dogs, I sold three beagle pups last year so who's trying to sell anything? Not winning, I've never entered one of my dogs in a trial so who needs excuses? You are also correct with your list of great houndsmen, the ones I don't know I've seen a lot in the magazines. I guess maybe I did say too much about Muckbottom dogs and I'm sorry to drag you into this Jim, I know it isn't your style. But JCM, just like you felt you should point out breeders who you felt were good, I feel I should have about Jim. That was kind of my point. Most all these guys are doing it right, I'm only saying don't judge them on what someone else does with their stock or give a little credit to those who keep it great (sorry too much like bragging- good). That is disrespectful of these guys life work and shameful to do to the people who can handle what they've bought. Besides, it lets the ones off the hook who can't by saying the line is bad. As far as hiding, I use my real name, I'm sure not trying to hide. I'm not trying to put anyone down, put myself up or take a dollar from any of you so relax. Like I said before, I'm just a nobody and I'm sure you are all brilliant dog men next to me. Maybe after my next 34 years of owning, breeding and training seven different breeds of hunting dogs, I'll be qualified to go on a public forum board and give MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION in a country I helped to defend the freedoms of. Sorry that offended so many of you. As far as BJK is concerned, I know Nate, I've sat on his couch and met his wife he's met mine and my son. They are some of the finest people I've met in dogs. He has always been honest and fair with me and everyone I know of who has dealt with him, plus he loves and cares for his dogs which tells me all I need to know. Don't pull out the keyboards, I'm not bragging on him now. I just want him to know it's just dog razzing, not a putdown. I do have a return riddle back though. If a tree falls in the woods and noone hears it, does it still make a sound? Bullboy, you've got it figured out. My son and I had a great morning today on a hot, sunny day with a cool breeze listening to dogs run and that's what it's really all about, enjoying the dogs that suit you. My job feeds my family and our dogs, our dogs feed our souls. God bless those that feel the same and help those that don't.
Hey guys,
Is it hot or what, meaning the weather. Like what Mike said, I hope you guys don't take these posts too seriously. I know Jim, Mike, Leon and Gil personally. The all have very good dogs. And as you can tell, I like to get a quick one in on them whenever I can, knowing they're going to pay me back when we get to run. Actually we talk and brag on our hounds all the time, especially Leon and Jim and myself.
As to Gill Davis, he's one of the premier and most prolific breeders out there. When we talk I listen more than I speak. He has a lot to offer when comes to line breeding. I pattern a lot of my crosses from his advice even though I run a different strain of beagle. He's what I call walking history.
Leon and Jim, get ready. I have several young prospects on the horizon. That's all I'm going to say, I ain't playing, get ready, I'm coming, I ain't playin'. Don't walk too slow, don't sleep too late. I'll be making my rounds, OH, TN, NC. lol!
Yall boys know I'm just kiddin' but I ain't.
May your dogs run hard and your rabbit run long
Leon, the next time I'll bring the Barbecue, cause you ain't had no barbecue til you had North Carolina barbecue, slaw, hush puppies and iced tea!
Nate, BJK

MR NATE JOHNSON,
I am still ready for you to bring your hound up here and see if they can even HANG with the power I am talking about.
I know all about those Crain Hounds. Some might even be BRANKO and you not even know it. I heard Smoker D's Dad was a super squirrel compotion dog. 100 barks a minute on tree. LMAO
Any how I like giving you a hard time!!!! Your Buddy...

Hey Guest,
You make me laugh. Research says laughter is good for the lungs and it also relieves stress. I don't know who you are, but, if you're who I think you are, the next time you come down, I'll bring old boy out of retirement for you and show you a true NKC/ARHA Little Pack dog. That is, if you are who I think you are. You missed some good running yesterday!
Nate, Big Johnson's Kennel
Hey Guest, I do have the Branko/Crain crosses. Very strong dogs, I ran one yesterday and have another litter on the way.

I DONT THINK YOU KNOW WHO I AM. I have never been to your house.
But I might come down to watch that washed up Smoker D dog run again. I have seen him run. He was soloing a rabbit at a trial..no wait a minute there were 5 dogs out there he was just that far in front of the pack.
Guess again Mr Johnson.

Hey Gil,
Are the pups you have posted on the Beagles for Sale board AKC/ARHA registered? Just curious that is what the header says.

Guest,
You're right, he is a front runner. Don't you love it! I wish I had 5 just like him. Yeah, Little Pack is all about individual accomplishment. I can't remember which trial that was. I do remember one in particular. The 2000 World Hunt. He put on a clinic. The judge says he didn't win his cast. But everytime I saw him he was 30-40 yards in front of everything. The other 4 dogs were running behind the judges, neither could keep up. Oh well, that's a trial for you. Kinda reminds me of the Houndsman story in the Rabbit Hunter (July/Aug. isse). But he came out on top.
Yep, Old Smoker D is retired, he's living the life of Raleigh, eating good, chillin' and making babies. I run him once in a while, just to keep him in shape for those gals.

mike i wasnt referring to your post at all.. i read all of them pretty quick and Waybacks was what i was referring too. what i see all over the internet is some guys seriously discussing hounds. i know i take them way too seriously, but anyways somebody will sign on under guest or some new name and really bash somebody.. lots of guys on here you can email them or see their web page. others use same name and ive read their posts and kind of get to know them. its ok to disagree. just sign your name. be a little accountable.. thats what im referring to. speak your mind. just dont do it anonomously. wayback bought a dog from gill that was a cull in 1995. ok . whats the dogs name ? what was wrong with it. ? no breeder produces nothing but worldbeaters thats for sure.. at least none i know. i never met gil. all i can say is he treated me way more than fair.. TWICE . i didnt know him or not a relative or anything.. id buy a dog from him on his say so anytime. pete
????.
I seen dogs that where one mans culls given to some one that could Get good use out of them, many many times. And on the other hand I have seen good trained ,broke dogs go to others that where spoiled in short order. No i have to agree with snow, they all dont make good dogs out of anyones breeding. But i might ad none will make anything in the wrong hands.

Hey Leon,
We're roasting a hog this weekend, come on over. Put your dog box on and we can run some pups while the pig cooks. Just bring me a gallon of that Nashville barbecue sauce.

Hey Big Dog,
One of the hunt clubs that I belong to is having a pig pickin'. I thought it was this weekend but I've been told it's next weekend. Come on up, there will be plenty. If the weather permits, I'll be running first light on Saturday, these rejects I have could'nt chase a parked car, but they do try.

Mike Thomas, You said that Muckbottom, Jim Brown, weeded out all the Boldtsroeks that didn`t cut it at his kennel. Did he say why they didn`t cut it? And you give him alot of credit for the breeding of some excellent dogs, Did he tell you where he learned most of it? And did he tell you that he sold all his other dogs after he found the Boldstroke line and started breeding and calling them Muckbottom , but really they were all 100% Boldstroke.
My point is alot of people buy dogs and breed them, take all the credit for their success when really they are riding on someone elses coat tail. Changing the name of the dogs and selling them and giving no credit to the one who started the line.
Furthering a line is great and expected, but not to take all the credit for something they had little to do with. Paul
