Hey Mitch, One of the dogs that we are talking about( out of June Bug And Hang 'Em High) is CH TOUCHSTONE'S SMOKEY BEAR. He is in the pedigree of our stud dogs White River Big Jake and Beau. Those show dogs were extreme show dogs. Smokey ran rabbits some. I agree that it is exceptional to have whole litters that have extreme quallity. I would say just as hard if not harder in show dogs than hunt dogs. More variables are at play in a hunt competition than in the show competition.
Mitch, What kind of guarantee do you give on a pup? You have been in the UKC hunting events a lot longer than me and I am curious if there is any standard type of guarantee that you know of.

Don, I have had beagles around since I was born. All the early dogs were hunting dogs. Started showing in AKC in the early seventies. Like I said in my earlier post the female I bred to Hang 'Em High was a SHOW dog... Was out of beagles while in the military. When I got back in I started with AKC show dogs but with the perspective of breeding for hunt. Watched some hunts and judged some bench shows in different registries. Liked UKC and UBGF the best. Judged bench several shows at UKC hunts (I am also an all-breed show judge in UKC) and watched casts run and studied the field rules. Liked several of Dale Prunty's White River bred dogs that had what I liked in hunt characteristics. Knew Hal Davis from AKC shows and the UKC Premier Shows. Was somewhat familiar with some extraordinarily great AKC show dogs behind Michael. That plus the exceptional hunt characteristics in those dogs made me feel lucky to get Beau. He was the first dog I ever ran in a hunt format. Far from my first beagle.

Mitch, A dog bred in the seventies is not in the 3 generation pedigree of your pups but I have pictures of some of the dogs behind Michael if you are interested in some of the history behind your line of dogs. Those dogs I am talking about are some excellent AKC show dogs. Let me know if you are interested and I will dig up some old pictures and make copies for you. Dan
