i've always heard the hounds over 15" considered as july's or fox hounds.
some guys i've been told call'em halves. but there breeding beagles with
running dogs, walkers, bluetick or black and tan. if your not field trialing
i wouldn't think it make much difference what size hound you ran there
yours to feed. if he's a good'en i'd keep him.
let honesty run through the veins of each and every judge at each and every trial at each and
every format.

Patch, do the folks across the pond try to make a pack of clones (all the same speed and way of working the check) or do they have some specialists? I like the specialists. I hate to see a whole pack scatter on the check, or die in one spot rather than cross the road. They all can't be in front either, and if they are all trying to you are going to have a lot of over runs. All the same size is great, won't help the performance any but I won't keep an odd size no matter how good... gotta be a level pack. Then you go to all the same color and appearance.

i am not a fan of small hounds but i can tell u this, if he can help the pack i dont care what color ,size he or she is. i like big monster but if a little hound has a big heart and does all he can for me i will feed him. i am easy. i like difrent breeding, i have 2 pure lemon and white patch hounds, and 5 mostly branko style breed hounds. they are all young.
