How to protect ears from briars, etc... while running?

My dog gets pretty cut up while hunting. The other day we came home and the inside of her ear was oozing a clear liquid and it eventually scabbed up. She is fine, but I would like to protect her if possible. Any suggestions?

Coat the ears Down real Good With bag balm or a 3 in 1 ointment BEFORE runnin em even Vasoline will work just Slather it on real good before you turn em loose it may not keep em from Gettin all cut up but will stop alot of it also will help Slide the briars off AND if they do get cut up with the 3 in 1 they will already have an Antibiotic Applied LOL

dogs are alot tougher than you think. my dogs all have bloody ears, noses, tails, legs and feet. it is just part of it. when i go out to the kennel they are all raising ---- to get out and run. i read a post on here a few years back that said " winter is running time and summer is for recouping". i don't see how they can stand the pain. i'll bet almost everyone on this board has dogs right now with bloody stubs for tails. i read on here one time that we give our dogs the love, space and time we can spare and they in return gives their all. look at your dogs and see if that statement is true. got to love them rabbit dogs

Have you ever heard of putting melted (but not hot) beeswax on their ears? In cold weather I doubt it would last very long.
