TURBO,JUST A DOG,OR A BLOODLINE?

to answer the first question, i think if a dog has turbo in its pedigree only once, then turbo is a dog. however if a dog has turbo on top and bottom then turbo is starting a bloodline.

Lets start a list ( names, titles, sire, dam ) of Champions out of Turbo sons or daughters. I want to know. Where are they?

I am not a Turbo hater. The best hound I ever owned was out of Turbo.

you guys are killing why wouldnt you give branko at least half the credit i never saw heli-prop run but I have talked to people who have he was a very special hound some say the best ever

well prop was the father to turbo, so by saying branko had nothing to do with it is crazy. no prop no turbo get it? but what does branko know, there isnt another breeder to ever produce that many winning dogs ever!!!!!!!!!

yeah that made a great deal of sence, HE WAS BREED TO PROP, branko owned PROP.

MIKE, THEY MAY ONLY HAVE TURBO ONE TIME IN 3 GENERATIONS BUT THEY THROW THAT IN FOR THE EXTRA CHANGE THE NAME BRINGS. I'M LIKE YOU THOUGH, I HATE TO SEE THAT.

Bill,

Call Branko and ask him if he considers a dog that he didin't breed a branko! Don't give any name to what dog your refering too either. Branko willl tell you that if it isn't directly from Branko, the dog is not a Branko. Yes, Prop is from Branko, but Branko didn't make the cross that produced Prop. Don did! My hat is off to him for sticking with the Elk Creek females.

As a breeder Branko has stuck with this claim for a reason. All of us are out here breeding his blood to everything trying to make a hit. For that reason who could blame him, but he still has a right to be proud that Heli-Prop is the male that is responsible for all of this through Prop.

i understand that. branko him self his a great guy who gambeld every thing he had on 1 cross ann and dingus. that was along time ago. i dont mean to say that he was the breeder, i guess what i am trying to say half of turbo blood is branko. i my self am a patch hound guy. but after talking to branko i have a great deal of respect for the man. and i find my self sticking up for him. actualy i did ask him about turbo. and he gave me his thoughts on the dog. i have never meet any one with that much knowledge and dedicated as much has he has for the love of beagles.

It is a fine line because all of on here like to say are hounds are branko, turbo, patch, etc....

But, in respect to Branko and for his breeding program he has to say that if it didn't come from him it isn't a Branko. People will breed a billy goat to a branko dog and say that its branko. Branko has produced...bottom line. It has to be hard to take this kind of stance when you see one of your dogs that was out crossed produce, becuase for eveyone that did produce how many didn't.

NOONE CAN DENY THAT BRANKO BREEDS SOME NICE HOUNDS,BUT IF DON DID BRING THE FEMALE AND MADE THE CRESS THEN HE IS THE BREEDER.HE DESERVES THE CREDIT,NOT BRANKO.TURBO BLOOD SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ITS OWN BLOODLINE.

IF YOU WANT TO CONSIDER EVERYTHING THAT GOES BACK TO BRANKO,BRANKO BRED,WELL LOOK AT ALL THE DOGS THAT PEOPLE COSIDER LINES THAT WHERE CREATED OUT OF BRANKO STOCK,PRIME TIME.AND NINJA FOR EXAMPLE.

TRUTH IS A LOT OF TODAYS BEST HOUNDS GO BACK TO BRANKO,AINT NO DENYIN THAT.

Well Matt keeps asking what dogs out of Turbo produced good dogs.
Dont be shy Matt..... In memory of Powell's Turbo DreamBoat ... This dog produced some wonderful dogs and not just wonderful but they can bring home the trophies and meat.

I can not believe this is the only Turbo pup that has thrown great dogs.

As far as this being a bloodline?
I was in error prior to thinking about it and looking back at the pedigree. I would have called it Branko. I think others have made the same mistake. I was at a trial and heard it said ...if it has a blaze up its head it is a branko and does not belong in this format. Guess again those Blazed headed dogs proved themselves.
I would say Heli-prop did have input to Turbo but that is only 1 dog 1 time in his pedigree. Branko does get the credit for that cross that made Turbo but, Don made the crosses with Turbo that have produced those pups. Maybe they should be considered Hoag bloodline..Hope that is correct spelling.
I know Showboat has done well out of Turbo but have not kept up on his pups. Would be interesting like Matt said for people to list their Turbo pup and what he has accomplished and what he produced in the way of winners.

Also if you think I am biased. That could be possible because my kennel is DIRECTLY from POWELL'S TURBO DREAMBOAT. But regardless of my bias my older 2 dogs have done well in my opinion. Missy was entered in 5 ARHA PP hunts 1 of which was the World and she only needs 25 points to become a Champion.
Max has 2 wins toward Grand Champion in ARHA PP.
