SportMix or Diamond need opinions..
I am currently feeding Purina Hi Pro and I am considering switching to either SportMix or Diamond due to the large amounts of stool. I have read the reviews on Sportmix and I have a dealer who is fairly close. My local Tractor Supply sells the 50lb bag of Diamond High energy for $18.98 which is almost the same price as the SportMix 50lb bag.
I have safety concerns with Diamond after the recall but I figure that if there was still an issue it would be made public. Any opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ken

Been using Diamond for years but 2 dogs can't eat it due to they have a food allergy to the Diamond food. I switched to SportMix L&R and have been really happy with the feed. Down side is I lose 10lbs a bag and it cost more but since the dogs are doing good on it, it's well worth it. ONly the L&R is 40lbs.

I feel sorry for you guys... someone is ripping you off. Previously I fed Diamond 24/20 ... Liked it until all the problems started. Didn't have any hounds die or anything to the contray, but seems like the forumla changed. As result of such my dogs weight dropped a lot.
Due to such I switched to Sportmix 24/20, the black bag... My hounds do really well on it.
I pay $13.00 for the black bag here where I'm from.

I usually feed the diamond high energy but have tried the sport mix and it seem to work just as well. I asked the man at the feed store and he told me sport mix used what ever they got the best buy on it could be diamond one time purena the next just depended what company gave them the best price they just bag it.

I have been feedin purina high pro for about 2 years. I was at a feed mill when i remembered i was out of food and bought a 50lb bag of sports mix 26/18 in the blue bag, and will definently buy the high pro when this bag runs out. My kennels never had a problem with lots of crap until now. Its seemed like its doubled since i have started feeding the sports mix. I guess i will always be a purina man. JMO

Have any of you tried the Natural blend of Diamond? I believe there is a Chicken and Rice that is 26% protein 16% fat, or somewhere in that range. It comes in 40 lb. bags and the cost is about the same as the green bag. I was just wondering if it was any good, it seems that the ingredients are better? Maybe Bunny Runner could comment on it, I don't have access to alot of different feed in this area. Diamond, HI-standard, and Purina dog chow are about it.
