TC, If you go to the UKC dog events board and post you will get agillity info. It would help to get info on training classes in your area. Beagles can do anything you are willing to train them to do. Good luck. Dan M

I don't do agility stuff, but I did OB training and retrieve training on other breeds. I now have some young beagles that I believe could take that sort of training. Most I've had were just too soft for that. One appears to be a pretty good natural retriever, but I have always gone thru the trained retrieve program on all mine, even the Labs.

Beagles might do agility, but from what I have seen they have no chance of beating Border Collies... those things are totally amazing.

Don't believe a beagle can't be the best at this. When I was 13 I took a beagle to its AKC CD obedience title. Too many people told me not to expect too much. The dog ended up in the top 10 that year. Had 3 scores over 195. His best was 197.5 which earned him a first place in a large class at the trial. He beat all the goldens, shelties, ausies, etc. Was really awsome. Just a kid and his AKC CH beagle that were determined not to accept mediocracy. Between all the trophies at these large trials for high scoring hound, jr handler, Ch of record, class placement or win, beagle, etc, Chance and I collected up lots of hardware. Had good trainers and made a big effort with one of my "best friends"! Beagles can do anything you teach them to do. Plug in to some individuals who are successful at what you want to accomplish. GOOD LUCK! DAN
