How many of the dogs listed are Field Champions.
Back in the 70's the SPO movement started in order to promote the "Gun Dog" If that movement was a success, this post should have been several pages long and dominated with Field Champions.

I wonder what happened?

Thats the way my Dad and Grandpaw were, they didn't care about the breeding they wanted dogs that pup meat on the table. I do love the beagles-fire and heart in a small package. Mountain Music Dixie is a Rabbit hound,I'll miss her when she goes till then I'll give her every chance to do what she loves and excells at.

If I had to choose one it would be Brad Adkin"s Ol' Rocky dog. He can still do it but in his day man could he find and run a rabbit.

Truth is if I had to depend on my dogs from time to time I would go hungry. LOL
Now if a friend of mine would loan me his NAHB CH. Crackersneck Mutt. I would eat and eat good. I have hunted against that dog several times and still get my butt handed to me. Im not forsure about his breeding, but i am forsure about how good he is. That dog can out hunt a pack of dogs. I truly feel sorry for the dog from time to time. I have seen him come in and cry out when you touched his ears. There would be blood dripping from them. He is by far the best 2 maybe 3 year old dog I have hunted with.

My dad and I like GRCH GRHBCH WHITE RIVER BEAU OF TOUCHSTONE the last three times out we got 8, 7, and then 8 rabbits. 4 each is our limit in Ohio. All three hunts were less than 3 hours with Beau running solo. Never had to kick a bush. No hard walking, and he handled great. We have never seen a rabbit dog as effective gun hunting as Beau. He is one dog that is all business. Dan M

From what you have told me about Miss Dynamite and from what I have seen from Dusty that would have been an ideal pair.

The Best hunting hound I ever had was Windy Hollow Sam. This Hound would hunt from daybreak to dark. He never had a check, Never. his breeding was FC. Valli Hai Hershey x FC. Laurel Hill Sue Ann.
Sam hunted hard for 11 years and when he slowed down to 3 hours and his legs would just quit. I would carry him back to the truck. He would see the shotgun and be all excited right up until he died at 13 years of age.
