Cleaning Cement Kennel Floor

Post by Frank7ptbk »

For those of you that have cement floors on their kennels, what do you use to clean the cement? I shovel and spray every day but after a couple of years the cement is pretty well stained up. Just wondering if the chemicals for cleaning cement that you can buy at Lowe's are safe to use, or if you all use something else.

Thanks,

Did you seal the cement? I have 12 year old runs with cement that doesn't have any stains. I used thompsons water seal to seal it before I let dogs on it. I have re-sealed once. I would think a good pressure washer would get it clean then seal it. According to the internet coca cola will eat anything off cement!! LOL Be careful using bleach because bleach mixed with amonia (urine) can cause deadly fumes.

I pressure wash 1 time a year.I use pine-sol 1 time every 2 weeks to kill bacteria and also smells good.Stick a hole in the top of the cap and squirt it on the floor and just wash away.Safe to use around the dogs.
