SUDDITHS MISSISSIPPI DAN R.I.P.

Post by MIKE POUPORE »

Suddiths Mississippi Dan died in his kennel this morning after getting a funugs in his lungs called Blastomicosis. We got him on the medicine right away but it was to late. Anyone that saw him run knows what a great gundog he was, and he will be truely missed. He was the foundation of our breeding program. Mike Poupore

Gun Runners,

Sorry to hear about Dan.
He was one of those rare hounds that had a ton of hunt and could run no matter what mother nature threw at him!

He will be missed,
LPB

Dan by far was the best rabbit hound I have ever hunted over. He alwayys accounted for rabbit. Best brush pile dog you could ever ask for. We are really going to miss him this year Hunting. We all have some prodigy from Dan but nothing like Himself. Going to miss you ole Buddy!!

Dan was the best gun dog I have ever hunted behind.

He wasn't the best trial dog I've ever seen and he wasn't the classiest dog I've every watched.

He was a relentless son of a gun who never knew the word quit.

He was mouthly, some times he could be over competitive, but he never failed us when we were gun hunting. We never had a day he could not put a rabbit in front of the gun.

I'll forever measure every gun dog against him.

The best memory I'll ever have of that dog was when we were in Iowa, 12 hours from home with two trailers full of dogs, and ONE we could count on every day.

With out him we wouldn't have shot 1/4 the amount of rabbits that we did.

The last day he was running rabbits with his eyes swollen shut, when I finally got to him he passed out on the lead on the way back to the truck.

Mike, thanks so much for trying everything possible to keep the ol'man around. I was sure hoping you would get to hunt over him for a long time.

I can honestly say I liked that dog better than I do most people.

Rest in peace buddy. You will never be forgotten.

Mike,
Sorry to here about Dan...
I have one question though, are your dogs in ground pens? Or by a farm where they till? I ask cause dogs and humans tend to get this from inhaling soil...

Anyway we can other beaglers from going thru this would help...

Again, Sorry for your loss.

Jason, my dogs are kept above ground and I didn't run them by any farms lately where they till the soil, I have no idea how he got it or how to prevent it. Mike
