Pride dog food?
Moderators: Pike Ridge Beagles, Aaron Bartlett
after reading your replys, I went to wally world and started to read all the labels. Iams ,Pedigree, purina, old roy(I use the high-pro) and what ever else they had. Most of it was corn the first ingredient. none of it is something I would eat. I have seen dogs eat some bad things. I think I will stick with old roy Hi pro for now and try to find some good vitamin supplements from jeffers. Any suggestions? also does anyone use any kind of pad cream or gel on their dogs or should their pads be hard for the hunt. What about hunting in snow...maybe this year I will get some.
GOD BLESS THE USA
I have seen these dog boots in Petsmart,,, but there's no way on this here Gods Green Earth that my Savannah'll wear em!!!!!! She'll take to a Walkie Talkie around her neck quicker (inside joke there)... There is a million different substitutes out there for our hounds but I don't understand all about that stuff either.. Dang this sure gets technical somtimes!!! Reminds me of Crewing A Herk every now and again!!!!

I've been feeding Pride dog food for 6-7 years and my dogs always look good. I have been using the 22% protein 20 % fat feed in the white bag but I think I'm going to go with the brown bag (22% protein and 16% fat). I recently had to buy some of the brown as my vendor was out of the white and I notice that the amount of manure and smell is signifcantly less. The price I pay for the white sack is $11.25/50 lb. bag and the price for the brown bag is $14.25/50 lb. bag!

That's real interesting. I think they might be downplaying that number a little. Because my hunting buddy lost 7 out of 9 running beagles. ( all confirmed by blood test and autopsies) Sure Diamond paid for intensive care and they ended up saving 2 of them. Then 1 of them blew up during a run this past spring. So he has 1 left out of his kennel. I saw these dogs and what they went thru. It was absolutely ghastly. Then Diamond turned it over to their insurance company and they give my friend the run around for a while till he got fed up and settled with them just to get some closure. All dogs were AKC registered very good running beagles ( I've hunted with him for about 5 years and I've never seen them run any OFF game.) Insurance company told him since dogs had not been run in any field trials and did'nt have any points they could'nt give him as much for them.
So to each his own. You won't to feed Diamond knock your self out . But unless you know someone or you saw this happen personally. Don't try and sell someone on "it's probably safest dog food on market"
I know diamond didn't mean to kill all these dogs ..BUT THEY DID. What sucks is the way they treated a loyal customer after they killed his dogs.
Sorry for long post.

Crewchief, the reason you can afford Eukanuba is that your young'uns is done raised and feeding themselves now. I on the other hand have an 8-year old son and a 4-year old daughter who both have outgrown all their clothing this summer. I have found that the pro formula Pride (chicken and rice) 26-20 works as good puppy chow and doubles as breakfast cereal with a little milk and sugar. The kids have quit complaining about the smell since I feed it to them with a clothespin on their little noses! Hope you had a great labor day!
