Patch, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this fight. I've been to this place several years ago as well with my mother-in-law. She was also a great lady and it was hard watching her endure her struggle. I will say she was a stronger person than I as she looked that cancer straight in the eye and with the hand of the all mighty fought till she had everything done that she wanted or felt she needed to do on earth and then went home peacefully. May God bless you and your family and give you all the strength to endure.

Patch,
We'll pray for your family as well. My family and I went through a hard time a couple of years ago with my mother having breast cancer....I am glad to say so far it looks as though she is beating it....she went through the chemo and radiation treatments, tough seeing one of your parents go through this...May the lord be with you in your time of need.

Thanks to each and every one of you for your spoken prayers an well wishes, and too those who's thoughts were with us.
The medicine is stopped and he is in God's hands. Pain relieve goes through his veins and we wait for the Lord to call. The feelings of fear and faith intertwine to bring a mix of emotion, to him and all of us. The release and surrender come hard, the faith and hope of the future lay totally on the promises we believe, from our Lord Jesus Christ. If this is not so, how little is there to life...
Through his blood we were purchased, by his stripes we are healed...
Continue to be a blessing to others as you've been to me...Thanks again...Patch

You have my prayers. I know what you are going thru, I lost my Mother two weeks ago, and if it was for the people on this web site, it would have been much harder. God Bless You and Good Luck.

The Heavens rejoice as we weep, the pain is ended and all is now quiet...
Absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord, but, to a group of little grandchildren, it is a callous excuse uncle Patch gives, as to where Grandpa is, and why did this have to happen.
It will take a lot of puppy licks and fishing trips to the pond to work this through, but it is part of life, and no matter how much we try to protect them, they must accept the bitter with the sweet, that life gives.
The only thing that seemed to make sense to them was when I said, Grandpa is within each of you, you are a part of him and he will always be with you.
As the memories came back to me, I came to understand their reasoning as to what I'd just said. You see, when your 10 years old, it IS impossible to just loose a Grandpa...
Oh how innocence can bring us back to earth and put priorities right...

Time and hugs
S.R, sounds like you have the right answers for them, later on it might be a good time to explain to them how they can make sure they see Grandpa again and will be able to spend Eternity with him! I know you will do your best to share that with these little ones! I will keep your family in my prayers for now. We need to be open to the opportunities that God puts before us!
God Bless,
