FOX !! ??

Was running my rabbit hounds last nite about 8:30 so it was still alittle light out. They had been toungin for about 15 min., i then heard a strange noise coming from the other side of the dirt road, it sounded like a high pitch bird, like sound that i had never heard, i turned and looked down the dirt road and saw a fox, making this noise, not red but dark and it was making this strange noise. The hounds keep running the rabbit but i saw the fox heading in their direction.... anyone else ever heard a fox ?????

I sure have. i was bowhunting about 10 years ago when i heard it for the first time. it was about 10 min after dark and me and a friend was walking back to the truck. it sounded like a lady screaming to me. freaked me out my buddy knew what it was so he made fun of me for freaking out

An old she fox in heat will make a sound like a women crying or screaming. Also for some reason and I'm not sure unles it is a man's smell, they will follow a man after dark while they are in heat making this sound as well. Dan

Dan,,, that is what the fox was doing, like it was following me... I don't have nothin for it ,,,, lol
