Safeguard liquid

Post by lined out »

Anyone mix anything with it to make it taste better. My dogs act like they hate the taste. If I mix it with their food, they hesitate to eat it and sometimes won't eat it at all.

Any help would be appreciated

Open there mouth and squirt it in the back of there mouth that way they get it all and have to swallow it.

That is strange! Most of mine LIKE it. Of course, I had one that would not eat the apple Safeguard horse paste and it smells so go I was tempted to taste it myself-LOL! Like the previous post said - squirt it in the back of the mouth. I usually go for the roof of the mouth - no tastebuds there and less chance of aspiration. I guess it would not hurt to mix in a little something. The hard part would be figuring out what. Gatorade or Orange Juice is what lots of folks use with Ivomec. Beef broth would be tastey but it is messy and would make it hader to dose accurately.
