worms

Post by joe kaschak »

Just found worms in stool of one of my dogs. Not sure what type, They are approximately 1 inch long, white in color, and fairly flat. As they move, they seem to get wider(increase in width). Sorry if explanation offeds--did not want to confuse with the color as the worms are white. Anyone know what they are??

Tapeworm:
The head attaches to the intestinal wall and grows a segmented tail. These segments break off and pass in the hounds stool as white rice looking segments. An inch long may actually be up to 4 segment still attached together, as I seen them as small as 1/4"
Droncit wormer is good for removal of tapes... ;)

An all purpose wormer you can use that is readily available in most pet supply catalogs is either Safe Guard or Panacur. They're both good for rounds, hooks, whip and tapeworms.
