Where to get cheap Frontline or Advantage/Advantix

Post by ohiohunter »

I really like how Frontline Plus keeps ticks and fleas off my dog, but I can not find it anywhere for less then 50.00 for three months. Does anyone have anyplace cheaper?

Wherever you buy it, get the 99#+ size and use a 5ml syringe to split the volume for beagle sized dogs. That should cut your cost by 75%.

I get my Frontline from Australia cheapest I have found even with the postage . I get the larger size and divide it up works a whole lot cheaper as the larger sizes are only a few dollars more .

Ohiohunter: I just order three tubes for the XL dogs (up to 132 lbs) that will treat 12 beagles. The total price with shipping was $30.28 US at the current exchange rate. I believe the shipping portion was $2.38 US - not bad at all for airmail from Australia. Orders normally arrive within a week - sometimes in as little as 4 days!

Wow!!! I think I found my new supplier. I only have one dog. She is 28 lbs. If I get the bigger tubes for big dawgs, how many cc's do I give her per month?

Thanks for your help.

Some vets will sell it monthly. I think Mine sells it for 12$ a month. I don't get it for him though, although I should.

I use http://www.pets-megastore.com.au/ also. Cost for each individually comes out to $7.50/mo. after S&H which is $5.

Fetch a 3 month supply from your vet will cost you $36 . I get a 3 month supply for 2 dogs for less than 30 bucks , and if you get your dog into the brush like you want to he is going to need that flea and tick protection or else you'll have a house full of unwanted visitors. Once they get in they are the dickens to get rid of .

Ohiohunter you would probably benefit by getting the smaller doses do to the fact that you only have one dog . I don't think it would be a good idea to try and store it once you open it . A 3 mos. supply for your dog should be less than $30 including postage .

Gbeagle, thanks for the input.

Does everyone here feel Frontline is a good product. Do you think Advantix or Advantage is better?

Ohiohunter: It is a little more trouble to do it this way but you can divide the large tubes using a medical syringe. The amount for I apply to a beagle is 0.67 ccs to 1 cc depending on weight. It is all an approximate thing anyhow - just don't go WAY over. At this dosage, the XL tube will treat 4 to 6 beagles so I get 12 to 18 doses for $30. I do it this way because I have to treat 14 dogs and $2 per dog is a lot better than $10 for me! I would not blame someone with only one or two dogs going an easier route!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
